 The tradition of the Guicciardini Family and their involvement in wine and olive oil making dates back in history. The Castle of Poppiano is known to pertain to the Guicciardini before year 1199  and ever-since wine and oil have been produced. In the mid sixteenth century Francesco Guicciardini, Historiorgrapher, wrote in Poppiano part of his Historia d’ Italia. The Poppiano Estate, located in the “Chianti Colli Fiorentini”(Hills of,  Florence) between Florence and Siena covers 600 acres (330 acres vineyards, 110 acres olive groves) and produces Chianti Colli Fiorentini DOCG , Riserva, a diversified range of IGT wines- Tricorno, Toscoforte (Sangiovese) Syrah , Tricorno , Vernaccia , Sassaia del Virginio , Vinsanto and Laudemio Olive oil. You may reserve the following services : -          Guided tours to the winery, to the spectacular Vinsantaia della Torre Grande (of the Big Tower) and to the oil mill -          Tastings of the products of the two wineries: Castello di Poppiano and Mandorlaia, the estate recently acquired  in Maremma.
